Toyota is preparing to launch its least-expensive 7-seater SUV in India later this year, targeting family car buyers seeking value-oriented mobility. Slotted below the ever-popular Fortuner and Rush, the new SUV is projected to feature a redesigned look and added utility.
Co-development with Suzuki
This new model is a product of Toyota’s alliance with Suzuki. The engine is based on the same platform as the Suzuki Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The two brands leverage synergies to introduce small, efficient, and functional SUVs for the Asian market.
The car, which was already spotted during test runs, is speculated to be a rebadged Toyota Corolla Cross or a hybrid SUV developed on the DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform. According to sources, it could be launched as the Urbas Cruiser Taisor or with a fresh title altogether.

The new 7-seater will be available in showrooms in September or October 2025. Pricing is expected to start below Toyota’s existing SUV lineup. That will make this ideal for larger households and ride-share drivers who want plenty of room inside for a very affordable day-to-day operating cost.
