Punjab Expands Safe City Initiative to Taxila
The Safe City Project has been officially launched in Taxila by the Government of Punjab, marking a significant step in the right direction to enhance the safety of the people and improve the modernization of urban areas. The project is expected to transform Taxila into one of the safest cities within the province, and the advanced surveillance and technologies implemented in this project will help reduce crime, enhance law enforcement response, and safeguard citizens 24/7.
Advanced Surveillance Technology Enhances Security
Under the project, 93 state-of-the-art surveillance cameras have been strategically located in sensitive areas and high-traffic areas of Taxila. These are all the entry and exit points, main chowks, intersections that are too busy, as well as religious places, and the one that is famous, known as the Taxila Museum. The surveillance System features a mix of 20 IP (Internet Protocol) network cameras, 63 fixed cameras, and 12 high-powered zoom cameras, ensuring comprehensive citywide coverage.

A special drone base is available to cover large events, such as major loyalty rallies, among others, or even religious processes like the Muharram processions. We utilize drones to enhance the area under scrutiny or observation, making it a more manageable space. Such a coordinated effort toward safety makes it safer than ever to host large-scale events, and law enforcement can therefore be mobilized quickly to be prepared, in case of any sorrowful events.
