Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Higher Education Regulatory Authority has announced a six-month internship program for fresh graduates. Learn who can apply and how to submit applications.
Internship Opportunity for Fresh Graduates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a six-month internship program aimed at fresh graduates from across the province. The initiative is designed to give educated youth a chance to gain practical experience and exposure in a professional environment.
According to the official advertisement, HERA is inviting applications from candidates who have completed their degrees within the last one year. By connecting recent graduates with structured internships, the authority hopes to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace skills, making young people more prepared for future jobs in both the public and private sectors.
Who Can Apply and Basic Eligibility Criteria
Under the eligibility criteria, applicants must hold a domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and must be fresh graduates. This means that only those candidates who completed their degree within the previous 12 months are eligible to apply. Graduates from universities and colleges within and outside the province can be considered, as long as they meet the domicile requirement.
To prove that they are fresh graduates, applicants are required to submit a course completion certificate issued by their respective institution. This document should clearly show that the candidate has completed all requirements for the degree in the relevant year. The opportunity is open to both male and female graduates and is particularly attractive for those looking to build their first work experience after leaving university.
How to Apply: Documents, Deadline and Submission Options
Interested candidates must submit their applications within 15 days of the publication of the advertisement, with the last date set as 5 March 2026. HERA has made it clear that applications received after the deadline are unlikely to be entertained, so applicants should prepare their documents and apply well before the cut-off date.
Each application must include a detailed curriculum vitae (CV), attested copies of educational certificates, CNIC, domicile and any other relevant documents, along with two recent passport-size photographs. These documents can be sent by post to the following address:
Chairman, Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA)
Office No. 46/A, Sector B-2, Phase 5, Hayatabad, Peshawar.
For added convenience, HERA has also provided an email option. Applicants may send their applications and scanned documents to hr@herakp.gov.pk, ensuring that files are clear and properly labelled. Whether applying by post or email, candidates should double-check that all required documents are included to avoid rejection on technical grounds.
Selection Process, Interviews and Stipend Details
HERA has explained that only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews by the Selection Committee. This means that not every applicant will receive an interview call, so it is important to submit a strong and complete application. The authority has also stated that no TA/DA (travel allowance or daily allowance) will be provided for appearing in the interview.
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend in line with the rate approved by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. While the exact amount has not been detailed in the announcement, such stipends are meant to support interns with basic expenses during the training period. The internship will last for six months, giving participants enough time to understand organisational culture, learn office procedures and contribute to ongoing tasks and projects.
Why This Internship Program Matters for KP Youth
For many fresh graduates, finding a first job is often the biggest challenge. Employers frequently look for experience, while graduates need a chance to gain that very experience. Programs like the HERA internship help break this cycle by offering structured, time-bound placements that can be added to a CV.
By targeting graduates with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile, the program focuses directly on the province’s own youth, giving them a platform to develop skills, build professional networks and understand how government and regulatory bodies function. Successful completion of such an internship can make candidates more competitive in future recruitment drives and can even open doors to longer-term roles.
The authority has also reserved the right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason, which is standard language in public sector advertisements. However, as long as the program moves ahead as planned, it represents a valuable opportunity for KP’s educated youth to take a practical step into the world of work.
