Sindh Government Extends Deadline for Ajrak Number Plates
The Sindh government has further declared a new deadline by which it is imperative that security-enhanced Ajrak-design number plates are fitted on vehicles. The date has also been postponed to October 31, 2025 (initially scheduled for August 14), allowing car drivers more time to comply with this requirement.
Leadership Prioritizes Public Convenience
The decision came after Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla. In the meeting, civic officials reported on the incidence of number plate installations and the general security situation in the province.
With the public’s consternation in mind, the chairman, Bilawal, instructed the deadline to be extended. Minister Chawla quickly announced the new date, requesting that citizens take advantage of the additional time to become compliant.
Ajrak Plates: Advanced Security and Crime Prevention
The Sindh Excise Department stated that the new Ajrak design number plates have been equipped with the most modern security features. The purpose of these two enhancements is to promote vehicle identification and deter vehicle theft, as well as assist the police in their efforts to combat crime. The special Ajrak pattern is not only a celebration of Sindh’s cultural heritage, but also enhances the hardness of plates through forging or duplication.
Instructions and Legal Implications for Vehicle Owners
The new security-featured plates will be highly recommended to all vehicle owners to fit in their vehicles whenever required before October 31, 2025. Punishment could be enforced by imposing a fine or some other form of penalty for violation. The Excise Department has simplified the installation process, making it easier, and is currently working to make the plates available throughout the province.
A Step Forward for Road Safety and Modernization
Security number plates in the form of an Ajrak symbol design mark an important milestone in safer roads and modern vehicle registration in the province of Sindh. Police believe that these new plates will not only enhance security but also increase the effectiveness of vehicle verification and law enforcement.
How to Get Your Ajrak Security Plate
The vehicle owners are expected to visit the recommended centers that are affiliated with the Excise Department to complete the installation process. It may require some documents and some fees, so it is better to act early to avoid last-minute rushes.
Citizens should follow official Excise department communications or visit their website to stay informed about any updates and receive more detailed guidelines.
