Sindh has confirmed March 26–29 for the Thar Jeep Rally, with stock, ladies and prepared races plus motorbike, horse and camel events in the desert.
Four-Day Rally Scheduled in the Thar Desert
The Sindh Sports Department has officially confirmed the dates for the upcoming Thar Jeep Rally, announcing that the four-day event will be held from 26 to 29 March in the Thar desert. The rally has become one of Sindh’s most recognisable motorsport events, drawing drivers, teams and visitors from across the country.
According to officials, preparations on the ground are already underway. Work on the rally track has started as teams mark out the route across sand dunes and rough desert terrain. The goal is to create a course that is both challenging for experienced drivers and safe enough for organised competition.
Arrangements for accommodation, security, medical facilities and crowd management are being finalised to ensure that participants and spectators can enjoy the event in a controlled and secure environment.
Event Schedule and Race Categories
The Thar Jeep Rally will feature multiple race categories to cater to different types of drivers and vehicle setups. Competitions are planned in stock, ladies and prepared categories over the four days.
The schedule has been structured as follows:
• 26 March – Vehicle registration and technical inspection
• 27 March – Qualifying rounds
• 28 March – Stock category races
• 29 March – Prepared category races and closing ceremony
On the first day, organisers will complete registration and conduct a full technical inspection of all vehicles to check safety features, category compliance and mechanical readiness. Qualifying on the second day will determine starting positions and help officials rank drivers ahead of the main races.
The stock category races on 28 March will put relatively less-modified vehicles to the test, while the prepared category on 29 March will showcase heavily tuned jeeps designed for maximum performance in off-road conditions. The event will conclude with a closing ceremony and prize distribution for top finishers.
Ladies Category and Supporting Motorsport Events
A dedicated ladies category is part of the rally format, continuing efforts to encourage greater female participation in motorsport. Women drivers will have the opportunity to compete on the same desert terrain, helping to break stereotypes and inspire more women to take up off-road driving.
In addition to the main jeep races, organisers have lined up several supporting motorsport activities. Motorbike races will be held on the desert track, giving two-wheel enthusiasts a chance to demonstrate their skills on sand and uneven surfaces.
