NAB Launches Digital Transfers for B4U Fraud Victims

September 26, 2025Zayn0

The new online system introduced by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) enables the direct transfer of money to the bank accounts of victims through recovered funds. This online project will help simplify the process, reduce the time, and make it clearer and more convenient, which represents a significant change compared to the manual distribution system of the past.

From Pay Orders to Online Transfers

Earlier, NAB paid out recovered money using pay orders, and this time, only a few victims were paid at a time. This compelled the beneficiaries to visit NAB offices physically, thus creating delays and inconvenience. This hassle is removed with the new online transfer system, which credits money directly to the bank accounts of victims, making it fast, safe, and convenient.

First Phase of Implementation

It was an event marking the opening of the digital system, held under the chairmanship of NAB Chairman (retd) Lt-Gen Nazir Ahmed. The Islamabad/Rawalpindi office used to deliver the B4U scam victims (5,008) in one day during the first phase, with a total of 878.709 million. NAB is dedicated to victim relief and accountability, as the chairman himself oversaw the process.

Background of the B4U Case

The B4U case has its background from February 2021, when NAB started its investigations after being complained about by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and individuals who had been affected by it. The defendant was found liable for 7.3 billion. Until now, 17,250 victims have been given back 3.7 billion of the money. This will be one of the largest financial recovery operations at NAB, as the remaining funds will be returned as additional recoveries are made.

Impact and Future Outlook

Victims have generally embraced the introduction of digital transfers because they like the efficiency and transparency of the new system. Observers say that the move will eliminate administrative bottlenecks and mismanagement. NAB is leading by example by streamlining its processes to use digital solutions in accountability cases, which could also extend this system to other fraud recoveries.

Conclusion

The introduction of the NAB digital transfer system is one of the achievements in compensating victims, particularly those affected by the B4U scam. Adopting technology has enabled NAB not only to deliver justice but also to do so efficiently, which in turn has restored confidence in victims and made the institution more dependable as the country’s leading accountability institution.
