Microsoft has introduced a revolutionary AI tool known as Muse, which has been developed in collaboration with Teachable AI Experiences and Ninja Theory, an Xbox Games Studios developer. What is Muse?
Muse creates in-game visuals with actions that map to the player using a 3D understanding of the game environment. This AI model has been trained extensively using 1.6 billion parameters across a variety of data from 1 billion images and another 1 billion images for controller actions. This data can be estimated to be equivalent to around seven years of uninterrupted human gameplay, mostly from the works of Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge.
Training and Functionality
User-consented gameplay data were used in training the model; hence, information use is considered ethical. Muse accepts visual and controller input at a resolution of 300 x 180 pixels to generate gameplay sequences of up to two minutes. To enhance immersive experience creation, this model also adopts a world model mode which allows Muse to predict later happenings in the game.
