It is a project by Design HQ. This small eatery is situated on the first floor, featuring a small outdoor seating and an open street view. The walls at the back are kept in dark blue, contrasted with a bright yellow seat and accentuated with bronze hints.

A simple black framed window forms an entire wall, enclosing the outside greenery and filling the space with ample sunshine. The wireframe lamps complement the window-frame, while the gray stone cladded along the counter length provides an understated background texture to complete the subtly posh finish.

Ambiance & Setting

A single-story glass panel restaurant, 2 Broke Engineers, is situated on top of Beechtree in F-7 Markaz, offering spectacular views of Margalla Hills lush green. It’s the brainchild of Ifrah and Muneeb, two engineers.

The dimly lit restaurant has become a focal point for anyone who passes by. The beautifully laid out seating arrangement, with its sleek décor, will fit up to 50 customers at a time. Those who want a secluded arrangement should sit down by the window, enjoying F-7’s hustle and bustle. In front of a dark blue feature wall lies a lemon yellow sofa, bringing life to the shades of grey and black spread throughout the restaurant.

A Fantastic Color Themed Eatery

Upholding a balance between contemporary and simplicity lines, Two Broke Engineers, formerly a beauty shop, was conceived with the notion of designing an interior of modern-chic restaurants juxtaposed to natural influences.

The two-sided apertures of gigantic views of Islamabad city gave the opportunity for a dine-out experience allowing the exterior and interior areas to blend through each other. After entering, the user is allowed to breathe in the transparency from full length windows through the absorbing light and green outdoor views. Whereas the restaurant is built with bright royal blue wall boiserie paneling against yellow tufted Tuscany couch on the opposite end of open views.

Live kitchen

The restaurant enjoys live kitchen theatrical production on one side, and the ever-changing moods of views of nature on the other. The floor was kept flat, as it was meant to draw attention to the enveloping walls and views.

To highlight the setting, wooden furniture and grey upholstery complimented the contrasting idea of simplicity in the centre. The living kitchen window and reception counter walls were laced with gray stone textured diamond lattice tiles, while similar natural raw appeal was brought in by hanging planters which also take care of structural beams.

Balcony Dining

The design offers, among other experiences, the opportunity to dine on the balcony, created by pushing in the windows. Similarly, a structural column welcomes the entry, which is transformed into a textured painted wall that forms a selfie-coffee canvas and partitions from the entrance foyer seating area.

Their menu highlights the specialties of different cuisines, including Chinese, Thai, and Continental, which branch into Starters, Soups, Pastas and Steaks, Desserts, and Drinks as well. You can also make your own bowl, selecting a main dish along with two sides that is, Fried Rice and Chowmein.

Staff Service

  • Their staff is able to tell you the ingredients of each dish, and any allergens that visitors may care about-because that is completely important.
  • Therefore, the staff know each recipe by heart and all staff should be aware of any deals, offers or promotions.
