Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi hailed that the Traffic Police Office at Faizabad would henceforth operate 24 hours a day. This was finalized through a late-night meeting led by the IGP to discuss the evaluation and enhancement of service delivery to the people.
Extended Hours and More Facilities
In addition to the 24/7 operation in Faizabad, the working hours of the existing Police Khidmat Markaz centers in Islamabad have been expanded to 6 PM – 9 PM. These centers are also establishing new counters to minimize waiting time and enhance efficiency. At the moment, the driving license services are served in 11 Police Khidmat Markaz facilities in the capital, which makes them more accessible to residents.
Easing of the Licensing Process
IPG has instructed senior officers to simplify the licensing procedure, making it faster and more accessible to citizens. Officials are in the process of expanding the services of Khidmat Markaz centers to include all police stations in Islamabad, eventually, as far as the traffic is concerned. This growth is intended to make the much-needed services accessible to communities without requiring them to travel long distances or spend time.
Driving Whilst Unlicensed
The IGP has highly encouraged citizens to secure their driving licenses by the month of October. He warned that anyone caught driving without a valid license beyond this deadline will be harshly dealt with by the law.
