Islamabad Traffic Police introduces new time slots for driving license issuance, offering priority hours for women, seniors, professionals, and students.
New License Schedule Announced
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced a new timetable for issuing driving licenses, with the aim of making the process efficient and user-friendly for citizens. The time slots will be structured to minimize congestion in the licensing centers, reduce waiting time, and offer convenience to various sections of the population. The authorities believe that the relocation will demonstrate that ITP remains committed to enhancing its services for the people and driving digital transformation.
Special Slots of Women and Senior Citizens
Between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, women, senior citizens, and retired government officials are given priority services. Such a time would be more comfortable to these groups who tend to struggle in the long queues during the peak hours. Through booking these slots, ITP guarantees that vulnerable and priority groups are handled effectively within the required duration, without any unnecessary inconvenience.
Evening Hours for Professionals and Students
Given the tight schedules of the government and non-government employees, the university and college students, ITP has set aside evening time between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. This project is beneficial for working individuals who are unable to visit licensing offices during regular working hours. The evening hours will also be more accessible to students in daytime classes, allowing them to avoid foregoing academic commitments.
General Public Access and Service Availability
Driving license services are still available to the general population during the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The large window will provide flexibility for most citizens to fulfill their licensing needs. ITP made it clear, though, that priority groups have specific times; the system was created in such a way that it is accessible to all.
Enhancing Public Convenience and Efficiency
The project is an extension of the ITP’s comprehensive reforms aimed at enhancing the convenience of citizens. It is hoped that by segregating applicants into various time slots, congestion will be reduced, service provision will be accelerated, and the customer’s experience will be enhanced. Long waits in the past were a common complaint among applicants, but with this well-organized program, the department hopes to rectify this issue.
Digitalizing and Future Strategy
The ITP has already taken some steps in the digital world, offering opportunities to book appointments online and obtain e-licenses. These efforts are complemented by a new time slot system that facilitates easier in-person visits. In the future, the government plans to open additional licensing facilities and offer mobile services to further simplify the process. ITP is becoming a modern traffic control authority by integrating technology and citizen-oriented reforms.
