Four of the most trafficked checkpoints, Zero point, Faizabad, G-14, and Foreign office have been equipped by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) with mobile facilitation vans. At these locations, any citizen without a driving licence is allowed to apply to receive a learner permit. The officers are verifying licences; in case you do not have one you can obtain a learner permit immediately, without going to a fixed office. What to Bring: Documents And Basic Requirements
Keep it simple and ready. Carry your original CNIC and a copy, one recent passport size photo and working mobile number. In case you wear glasses, indicate it in the register so that the permit can show that. The motorcycle learners under the age of 18 should confirm the current age requirements prior to visiting an ITP portal. The officer checks your CNIC, captures or scans your photograph and input your information into the system. Practical Tips: Save Time and Pass the Test
Reach the van early in the day to beat queues. Keep photocopies of CNIC and photos in an envelope, and write your mobile number on top. Study the ITP learner booklet and online sample questions. Practise parallel parking, three‑point turns, and smooth braking. For motorcycles, practise balance at low speed, proper signalling, and shoulder checks before lane changes. On test day, arrive 20–30 minutes earlier, bring originals, and keep your vehicle clean with working lights and indicators.
