Islamabad Assan Khidmat Markaz Set to Open Soon

Islamabad’s new Assan Khidmat Markaz in G-9 will soon offer hundreds of government and CDA services under one roof through a modern one-window public facility.

A new one-window public service centre, Assan Khidmat Markaz, is close to completion in Islamabad and is expected to be inaugurated soon. The facility has been set up in the former Public Welfare Department (PWD) building in the Mauve Area of Sector G-9 and is designed to bring hundreds of government services under one roof for residents of the federal capital.

One-Window Facility in the Heart of Islamabad

The Assan Khidmat Markaz aims to function as a central hub where citizens can access multiple services without visiting different offices scattered across the city. It is located in the old PWD building, which has been completely renovated to support one-window operations. The location in Sector G-9’s Mauve Area makes it relatively easy to reach from various parts of Islamabad and nearby Rawalpindi.

Under the current plan, the centre will host the Capital Development Authority’s one-window operations, services of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and, likely, passport and other federal services. By consolidating these departments under one roof, the government wants to reduce paperwork, cut down waiting times and simplify common procedures for citizens.

Renovation and Infrastructure Upgrades

The PWD building has undergone a full makeover for its new role as a service centre. According to officials, the Capital Development Authority carried out the project as a deposit work, focusing on both structural improvements and modern facilities. The building now features a redesigned exterior, upgraded interiors and layouts tailored for one-window counters, waiting areas and customer guidance.

Landscaping and horticulture work around the building have also been completed, giving the premises a cleaner and more welcoming look. The aim is to provide a professional environment where citizens feel comfortable while dealing with important documentation and service requests.

CDA Chairman Reviews Progress on Site

Chairman Capital Development Authority, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, along with the CDA engineering member, recently visited the under-construction Assan Khidmat Markaz to review progress. Officials briefed him that construction of the main building structure is complete, while finishing and renovation work is now in its final stages.

During the visit, the chairman expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work and directed that the facility be handed over to the Ministry of IT and other relevant departments as soon as the remaining tasks are completed. He also issued instructions to speed up the last phase of work so that the centre can be opened to the public without unnecessary delay.

Services to Be Offered Under One Roof

Once operational, the Assan Khidmat Markaz is expected to offer hundreds of services from different departments in a single location. All services currently available at CDA’s existing one-window facilitation centre will be shifted or duplicated here, including property-related matters, building plan approvals, transfer of ownership and various civic utilities requests.

In addition, citizens may be able to access services of the Islamabad administration such as domicile certificates, arms licences, character certificates and other ICT-related approvals. Officials have also hinted that passport services and other federal facilities could be added over time, turning the centre into a true one-stop shop for many day-to-day government interactions.

What It Means for Residents of Islamabad

For residents, the Assan Khidmat Markaz is expected to reduce the need for multiple visits to different offices and long queues at separate counters across the city. A single, central facility can save time, travel costs and effort, especially for people who need to process more than one service at the same time.

If combined with digital queuing systems, online appointment booking and clear information desks, the new centre could mark a shift toward more citizen-friendly governance in Islamabad. For now, authorities are focused on completing the last phase of renovation and handing over the building to the concerned departments so that the long-promised one-window facility can finally open its doors to the public.
