March 4, 2025Zayn0

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has formally announced that it will deliver uninterrupted electricity supply to its region throughout the month of Ramadan. The declaration comes in line with the company’s policy to guarantee residents can conduct their religious traditions without the burden of power loss.

Preparation for Peak Demand

With electricity consumption estimated at 1,206 megawatts (MW), IESCO authorities say there is adequate power allocation from the national grid. The company has devised a complete plan that involves monitoring round the clock to quickly tackle any possible outages. An IESCO spokesperson said the organization is well-equipped to handle the increased energy demands during Ramadan.

To improve response, more than 126 complaint centers have been put into operation and manned by staff that is on high alert to quickly clear any problem that emerges. Furthermore, a central control room is actively monitoring real-time supply, demand, and distribution and working to avoid disruptions while ensuring there is an uninterrupted power supply for all customers.

Communication and Reporting Mechanisms

IESCO also urges consumers to report outages at local complaint offices or through the special helpline 118. The spokesman appealed to citizens to use these avenues for timely solutions, asserting that the teams are focusing on priority areas during peak hours like Sehri and Iftar. This advance move is made to reduce any inconvenience to consumers at these most important moments of the day.

Overcoming Past Issues

Earlier this month, different cities experienced a gas shortage severely during the first Sehri of Ramadan 2025, with many residents unable to prepare their pre-dawn meal. As per ARY News, the gas distribution companies had promised uninterrupted gas supply on Sehri and Iftar timings; however, the ground reality was a far cry on the first day of Ramadan.

Households in cities like Karachi and Rawalpindi had total gas outages, including in locations like Rifah Aam Society, Malir, Nazimabad, Gulbahar, and Ranchore Line in Karachi. In the same way, Rawalpindi areas like Sixth Road, Satellite Town, and Khurram Colony experienced high gas shortages.

Impact on Households

Due to the gas crisis, most homes struggled to make Sehri, which forced people to look for other options at hotels and dhabas along the roads to have food. In certain places, families were left with no option but to start fasting without Sehri, which made them question the consistency of gas supplies for the entire holy month.

The gas supply problems on the first day of Ramadan have raised concerns about the overall dependability of basic services during this holy time. Sui Northern Gas Company and Sui Southern Gas Company have both been criticized for not meeting their promises to supply uninterrupted gas supplies.

Conclusion

In the face of these adversities, IESCO’s diligence to provide an uninterrupted power supply throughout Ramadan comes as a soothing respite to inhabitants. Proactive efforts of the company along with its better communication networks aim at reducing glitches, enabling the population to carry on their religious commitments without worries regarding power losses. With time as Ramadan evolves, the efficiency of these strategies will prove indispensable to sustain faith in public services.
