HEC has scheduled the aptitude test for Balochistan and ex-FATA scholarship candidates on 14 December 2025, with roll number slips available on the ETC portal.

The Higher Education Commission has announced that the aptitude test for students applying under the Balochistan and ex-FATA scholarship schemes will be held on 14 December 2025. The test is a compulsory requirement for candidates who wish to compete for fully funded higher education opportunities under this special programme.
The announcement stated that the slips of the roll numbers of all eligible candidates are already published at the Education Testing Council portal. It has been recommended that the applicants should log in their ETC accounts immediately and download their slips and print them immediately before the test date. The roll number slip is a slip that has valuable information about the test centre, the reporting time and seat assignment and will be verified at the entrance.
Documents Candidates Must Bring to the Test Centre
HEC has also established rigid entry regulations to those candidates to appear in the aptitude test. Each student should carry their original Computerized National Identity Card or juvenile card to identify him or her. Besides this, they must bring their original matriculation and intermediate certificates which will be used to verify academic qualification at the gate or during registration.
No photocopies, scanned images in phones or provisional documents will be used instead of originals. Those candidates who come in without any of the documents needed have the chance of being refused entry as their names may not be mentioned on the roll number slip. HEC has encouraged students to organize their papers earlier and to place the papers in a secure folder such that nothing is lost on the test day.
Strict Security: No Mobiles, Electronic Devices or Handbags
To avoid unfair competition and cheating, the Commission has provided a high level of security within the entire test centres. Mobile phones, smart watches, tablets, calculators, earphones and any other electronic appliances are highly forbidden in the examination hall. They also do not allow handbags, huge purses and superfluous personal objects.
The candidates are expected to carry minimum luggage and come with just the bare essentials like roll number slip, original identity papers, academic certificates, few pens and in some cases, a plain transparent bottle of water. Physical checks will be done by invigilators and they can be equipped with metal detector at the entry points. A candidate seen in possession of a prohibited good may be thrown out of the centre, and might be disqualified in the scholarship process.
About the Balochistan and Ex-FATA Scholarship Scheme
The aptitude test is part of the larger project by the Higher Education Commission to help the talented students of Balochistan and the merged districts of the now-defunct Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The scholarship program aims to limit the access inequalities of higher education in the region by providing the scholarship to youths in a historically under-served region.
This programme allows a number of students to study in recognized universities in Pakistan at tuition fees, a living allowance and in some instances hostel or transport allowance. The aptitude test is to determine the readiness of the student in academics, his or her abilities to succeed in college level, so that scholarship is given based on merit without affecting the representation of the regions.
How Candidates Can Prepare and Avoid Last-Minute Problems
As there is a near approach to the test date, it is recommended that candidates put in mind the academic preparation and practical planning. Academically, students need to revise subjects that are core in their matric and intermediate syllabi, do sample question where possible, and practice time management to enable them to have the full paper done in the given time.
At the practical, it is recommended that they verify their ETC login, download and print their roll number slip and compile a list of documents they need. It is prudent to see or at least identify the test centre on the map, figure out the route and set off to reach there at least 30 to 45 minutes before the reporting time to take into consideration the traffic and security checks.
HEC has also reminded students that aptitude test is one of the major steps in getting fully funded scholarship. Candidates of Balochistan and former FATA can have the best opportunity to succeed in this competitive process by paying strict attention to instructions, adhering to security regulations and working hard.
