On Saturday, X (formerly known as Twitter) experienced a global outage, preventing users worldwide and in Pakistan from accessing the platform. The PTA said the issue arose again after a disruption on Thursday, May 22.
According to the PTA, no technical issues were discovered at Pakistan’s internet gateways during their investigation. The government said all other internet services in the country are working correctly.
According to the PTA, the problem originates with the platform itself. NetBlocks also found that the outage happened worldwide and was not triggered by local internet blocking.
The regulator added that PTA would keep the public posted if essential updates on the outage occurred.
Tens of thousands of users worldwide have been affected by this outage. Reuters notes that Downdetector.com said there were more than 25,000 instances of X not working in the United States alone. By 8:39 a.m. EDT (1239 GMT), we started getting reports in.
Two major network issues in a week have raised concerns about the platform’s reliability. While service was restored after Tuesday’s incident, the company did not explain why the outages occurred.
At the moment, X has not commented on the most recent global network outage to everyone.
Many users in Pakistan and around the globe are still waiting to access the service normally. Meanwhile, the rest of the internet and social media continue to function normally all over the country.
