Chery Announces Launch of Local Assembly Operations
Chery Master Pakistan has assured that it will start locally assembling hybrid cars in January 2026 at a new manufacturing plant it has laid down in the National Industrial Park, Port Qasim, Karachi. The announcement is a significant milestone in the life of automotive industry in Pakistan as more money and localization has been invested in vehicle manufacturing.
At the grand opening of the facility, the Chery delegates and the local partners explained that this state-of-the-art facility covers over 60 acres and the entire project is an investment of about 150 million dollars.
Manufacturing Facility to Boost Automotive Localization
The new plant will be made to international manufacturing standards, and will also have a highly developed technology to assemble hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Chery Master Pakistan is also building a network of dealerships with 10 locations all over the country with an estimated 10 destinations planned to be developed in seven major cities by 2026 in addition to production.
According to the officials, this move will greatly improve the customer access to the hybrid cars, after sales services, and availability of spare parts.

Hybrid Models to Be Locally Assembled
Chery Master Pakistan will bring four models of its famous Tiggo brand together, such as Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9. All the models will be fitted with the latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology, which is meant to provide better fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
The firm will roll out these vehicles using domesticized parts in the long term, which will favor the domestic suppliers and help in technology transfer to the automobile industry in the nation.

Samir Malik, master auto engineering CEO, indicated that the venture between Master Auto engineering and Chery automobile ltd. is a landmark in the history of the Pakistani automotive industry. According to him, not only will the project introduce an advanced technology of hybrids but will also provide a competitive supply chain to over 2,000 workers in the area.
Malik stressed that the partnership would hasten the shift of the country to sustainable vehicle production, which puts Pakistan in the center of the innovation of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in the region.
