CDA Launches Employee Healthcare Initiative
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced a historic healthcare program, offering free treatment to employees and their families at major hospitals in Islamabad. The move came out of a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and this is an indication of the desire by the authority to improve the welfare of its employees.
Access to Islamabad’s Top Hospitals
With the new plan, the CDA employees will be able to get a broad spectrum of the best hospitals in the federal capital under a new, improved medical insurance system. The insurance covers emergency services, outpatient care (OPD), medicines, and laboratory tests, providing comprehensive medical support. Services under this scheme will be provided by the Capital Hospital of CDA itself and its partners, the private hospitals.
Enhanced Coverage for Critical Illnesses
The authorities assured that the insurance scheme will focus on the treatment of life-threatening conditions like cardiac diseases, cancer and chronic illnesses. This helps employees and their families access quality and sufficient care on time, without the burden of incurring charges. Moreover, the plan will involve an increased limit for OPD treatment at a private hospital to improve healthcare options.
Inclusion in State Life Insurance Panel
It was further determined that the Capital Hospital of CDA would be included in the panel of the State Life Insurance. This will enable other organizations to avail their healthcare services to their employees, thus creating revenue, which will be used to upgrade hospital facilities. According to the Chairman, such upgrades will enhance service quality and infrastructure, thereby improving long-term sustainability.
Telemedicine and Remote Health Access
To further enhance healthcare accessibility, CDA will introduce telemedicine and video consultation services. They will be instrumental in the Basic Health Units (BHUs) in remote locations where specialist doctors are not always available. Employees will have access to qualified doctors online, which will help save time by reducing treatment delays.
Discounted Packages and Cost Savings
Moreover, the new insurance plan will see CDA bargaining with the leading hospitals in Islamabad to offer discounted treatment packages. This initiative will reduce the expenses incurred in healthcare while ensuring access to quality health services. The authority aims to provide fair and sustainable medical benefits to its entire staff by expanding the range of coverage from Grade 1 employees to Grade 21 workers.
