Balochistan Government Announces Over 25,000 New Jobs on Merit

February 9, 2026Zayn0

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced over 25,000 vacancies in Balochistan, promising transparent, merit-based recruitment through tests and BPSC oversight.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced a major recruitment drive in Balochistan, confirming that advertisements for more than 25,000 government jobs have been released across various departments. The new vacancies range from Grade 1 to Grade 15, while a separate batch of higher-grade posts has been sent to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC). The move is aimed at filling long-pending positions, improving service delivery and giving young people in the province fresh opportunities for stable employment.

Over 25,000 Vacancies Across Provincial Departments

According to the chief minister, the provincial government has issued advertisements for more than 25,000 vacancies from Grade 1 to Grade 15 in multiple departments. These positions cover a wide range of roles, including clerical, technical, support and field staff, reflecting the needs of different sectors such as health, education, local government, administration and public works.

Many of these posts had remained vacant for years due to budget constraints, administrative delays or lack of a clear recruitment framework. By opening them up now, the government aims to strengthen its departments at the grassroots level so that citizens experience better service delivery in schools, hospitals, offices and local bodies across Balochistan.

4,000 Higher-Grade Posts Referred to BPSC

In addition to lower and mid-level roles, Chief Minister Bugti confirmed that around 4,000 positions in Grades 16 and 17 have been forwarded to the Balochistan Public Service Commission for recruitment. These posts typically include officers, subject specialists and professional staff who play a key role in policy execution, supervision and technical decision-making within departments.

By routing these higher-grade jobs through BPSC, the government is signalling that it wants a competitive, standardised process for officer-level appointments. Written tests, interviews and strict merit criteria are expected to be used so that qualified candidates from across the province have a fair chance to compete.

Merit-Based Recruitment and Online Testing

The chief minister stressed that departments which have completed their tests and interviews will issue appointment orders without delay. For vacancies where testing is still pending, an online testing system similar to the one recently used by the Finance Department will be adopted. This approach is meant to speed up recruitment while keeping the process transparent and accessible.

CM Bugti reiterated his stance that no job in Balochistan will be sold, calling merit-based recruitment a cornerstone of good governance. Online testing and centralised procedures are being promoted as tools to reduce human interference, curb favouritism and ensure that positions go to candidates who genuinely meet the required qualifications and performance standards.

Strengthening Governance and Public Services

Filling thousands of vacant posts is expected to have a direct impact on governance and public services in the province. Departments struggling with staff shortages often face delays in implementing projects, handling citizen complaints and delivering basic services. By bringing in new employees at different levels, the government hopes to improve administrative efficiency and reduce workload pressures on existing staff.

The recruitment drive also has a social dimension. In a province where unemployment and underemployment are persistent concerns, opening more than 25,000 positions offers a significant opportunity for graduates and skilled workers. Transparent hiring, if maintained, can build public trust and give young people more confidence that hard work and education can lead to fair chances in the job market.

What Job Seekers in Balochistan Should Expect Next

For job seekers, the announcement means that they should closely monitor official advertisements, government websites and BPSC notifications over the coming weeks and months. Candidates will need to prepare for written tests, interviews and, in some cases, online examinations. Ensuring that documents, degrees and domicile papers are complete and up to date will be essential for a smooth application process.

The chief minister’s repeated emphasis on merit and accountability suggests that recruitment will be closely watched by both the public and the media. Applicants are being encouraged to rely on official channels, avoid middlemen and immediately report any attempt to demand money or favours in exchange for jobs. If the process remains clean and competitive, the current recruitment wave could set a positive precedent for future hiring drives in Balochistan.
